In Major Escalation, #Trump #DOJ [Frivolously] Sues #FultonCounty, #Georgia for 2020 Ballots

The DOJ is suing Fulton County, GA, seeking #ballots & other #election records from the #2020election.

The lawsuit, which a pro-voting group condemned as a “terrible overstep of power,” is a major escalation in the Trump admin’s dangerous effort to revive Trump’s #BigLie that the election was stolen.

In reality, #Trump lost the race by a significant margin & his repeated allegations of fraud have been widely debunked.

In a new lawsuit, the #DOJ is demanding “all used and void ballots, stubs of all ballots, signature envelopes, and corresponding envelope digital files from the 2020 General Election in Fulton County.”

The suit, filed Friday on US AG #Pam Bondi’s behalf by Assistant AG for “Civil Rights” Harmeet Dhillon, marks the first time the #DOJ has officially demanded actual #ballots from #state or local officials as part of its pursuit of a myriad of election #ConspiracyTheories long & repeatedly debunked.

…While Dhillon’s lawsuit makes the demand for #FultonCounty #ballots official, it wasn’t the DOJ’s first attempt at securing access. In Aug, #EdMartin, head of the DOJ’s vague weaponization task force, reportedly sent a letter to a Fulton County judge demanding to “immediately access” 148k absentee ballots being stored in a ballot warehouse.

In Oct, Dhillon, again on #PamBondi’s behalf, sent the Fulton County Board of Registration & Elections a letter demanding the records.

In Friday’s lawsuit, Dhillon claimed that the Fulton board hadn’t complied with the letter’s demands & alleged that Ché Alexander, the clerk of courts for #FultonCounty, violated record retention requirements in the #CivilRightsAct of 1960 by not producing the documents.

The act requires #election officials to retain a large swath of documents, including #VoterRegistration & #ballots, for 22 months after any federal election. It also requires ofcls to make the documents available for “inspection, reproduction, & copying” in response to a request by the AG.

“This administration’s unending obsession with the #2020election results in #Georgia uses outright #lies to compensate for the fact that they lost,” Kristin Nabers, the state director for All Voting is Local, said in a statement. “President Trump’s bidding, the Department of Justice is attacking the very notion of #FreeElections in this country, demanding to see #ballots from #FultonCounty because their candidate didn’t win there half a decade ago.”

“With this terrible overstep of power, the #DOJ is now weaponizing laws meant to protect #voters for their political #vendetta,” Nabers added.

@Nonilex
Election was held November 3, 2020. 22 months after that passed on September 3, 2022. It is currently 2025. They better find a judge who isn't concerned with math or the passage of time if they want this to go anywhere.

@Nonilex

That's a no from me.

@Nonilex If they get the actual ballots, and know who voted for Biden and who voted for Trump, they will then be able to target the Biden voters for harassment and voter suppression. Courts should treat the DoJ in this case as representatives of the sore loser in the election, not as the neutral federal government.
@Nonilex investigations are on-going into non-existent counties in multiple states where trump received thousands of votes, phony made up votes. ELECTION CORRUPTION that Musk helped put in place. Musk should be in prison for the duration of his life or put to death. As for trump, I'm good with dropping him in the ocean somewhere between Alaska and Russia.
@BillMcGuire @Nonilex I can’t find any evidence of those investigations. Do you have a link handy?

@MissConstrue

You might check out the group: Election Truth Alliance on YouTube. That is one I support monetarily. There are others who are doing the same work to uncover the truth.

@MissConstrue @Nonilex

also, a group calling themselves: This Will Hold published a fairly long piece on Facebook a few days ago. Search it out cuz it also shares into about counties that, oh let's say Musk for our purposes, just made up and loaded phony votes for trump and sent them in. It's quite interesting.

@BillMcGuire @Nonilex

Ah, ok. I'm familiar with the This Will Hold substack, which I assume is probably the same on FB. I haven't touched FB in a decade, so I can't be sure, but based on content scrape, they seem the same.

The person behind it is anonymous, which I mean, so am I, I get that, but does make checking bias/sourcing/funding difficult to determine, and that can have a bearing.

My opinion, having read some of the substack, is that the person writing it is highly skilled in semantic programming. Which is to say, they create emotion with loaded terms where evidence is thin. There's a lot more subjective data than objective.

MediaBias has a page on them also:

I am rocking a VPN these days/nights.

@BillMcGuire @Nonilex Make sure it's not one of the ones on the list I published yesterday. :)

@MissConstrue

didn't see that...., whisper it to me.
