I'm thinking about writing a post about a general strike. But I don't really know enough yet. I guess the odds are that nobody here has actually lived through one. I'd really like to find out what it's like in the days leading up to a general strike, as well as the day of.

I'm also thinking about what to recommend. Probably a good idea to have a small first aid kit to bring with you, including bottled water. Eye protection. Some kind of protective clothing, possibly? Turning off fingerprint and facial recognition on your phone? If you can afford it, maybe a burner phone instead?

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

@Quasit I'd ask what would the aim be for a general strike. We have a recent analogue to a general, the covid lockdowns, it obviously wasn't intended to force capitalists to the table for reforms but how capitalism adapted to that is informative.

They went straight to the state, massive bailouts w/ guarantees, and then the work began to separate PMC workers from "essential workers."

Society functions with relatively few % of "essential workers" how would we represent them and not be divided.
