Thought I'd share some improvements I have planned for ClickWheel before the first release, can't wait for you all to use it 😄

As for the icon, I'm thinking about something like this, preferably optimized to work with liquid glass (this is just a screenshot from the app cropped to be a square)

@tomasvsantos one of my students worked on a similar thing for class many moons ago… this brings back such memories of memories: https://www.theverge.com/tldr/2019/11/28/20986886/iphone-app-ipod-classic-click-wheel-elvin-hu-developer

This iPhone app will make you nostalgic for the iPod click wheel

An iOS developer has turned an iPhone into an iPod Classic, complete with the traditional click wheel. It’s all part of an unreleased app, and it even includes haptic feedback and click sounds just like the original iPod

@everyplace thanks for sharing, that article was a lovely read, was the app ever launched?
I'll keep going for sure, I have a few more things to add and bugs to iron out before a first release as you can see above, but I expect to have a app store ready version very soon!
@tomasvsantos no, he never released it. I don’t even remember if he took it far enough to consider the release! But in my outsider opinion I think some of the recent APIs and rules might make it easier to make a thing like this live for real. If you haven’t already, it might make sense to keep a look out for when Apple hosts office hours, to talk to the App Store team about releasing; they were very helpful for my personal projects.
@everyplace Oh, I'll totally hit them up, thanks! I've only ever published on the App Store once and the team was super helpful during the process, but talking with them beforehand sounds even better!
As for recent APIs, I'm not familiar with how MusicKit worked in the past, but right now it is incredible, still haven't hit any walls with it!
