Jolla Phone matters more than ever.

Every Android phone, every iPhone; your data, habits, convos: processed, analyzed, stored on someone else's terms.

Jolla spent 12 years in wilderness keeping Sailfish OS alive through die-hard community.

Next to them mobile OS graveyard filled up with names like Symbian, MeeGo, Firefox OS, Windows Phone - Jolla survived.

• Physical privacy switch (kill cam/mic)
• Replaceable battery
• Android app compatibility (practical)

Sailfish OS - European alternative for Mobile operating systems

A privacy respecting Linux-based European alternative to dominating mobile operating systems developed by Finnish company Jolla.

Sailfish OS

@robianhood

Functionality and consumer friendly approach can be seen as a key.

The only four commercially viable mobile operating systems in the world:

iOS (US)Android (US) HarmonyOS (China) Sailfish OS (Europe).

One can quickly see why Jolla to keep moving forward would benefit all people in the long run.

@Linux, your post made me curious and I looked up the SailfishOS homepage to learn more. Only to be disappointed.

I would never choose or support anything with systemd. A joke to me to read about systemd in the section on security (on the homepage).

The Europeans need and deserve a better alternative.

@robianhood

One can always keep using Android and iOS. What is it in your opinion that systemd is not the way to go? (as the topic indeed is regular use and new comers).

In the desktop front also Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu and Arch, to name a few mainstream ones, have chosen systemd for good reasons.

@Linux, I would be surprised if one day the people in charge of the Linux distributions you mention would not regret their past decision to go with systemd. I don't believe they understood what systemd is (or would become) or they must be mad; not an init system by the way. 🕸️
