@QasimRashid Actually Tik Tok and other forms of social media may have something to do with it for the same reason that TV helped the civil rights movement in the 1950s to 1960s. TV gave Martin Luther King a national audience and news clips showing how the police, etc., in southern towns were suppressing peaceful protesters resulted in national outrage in the rest of the country.

@QasimRashid Lots of young people *are* only pro-Palestine because of TikTok. And that shows how important social media is in bringing awareness to issues where traditional media and governments want to control the narrative.

Now we just have to figure out how to ensure that those powers don't put their thumbs on the scale of the algorithm. When Ellison takes over TikTok that narrative will change and we need to raise the alarm and provide off-ramps before it's too late.
