Your gender is Mastodon, more specifically, The original server operated by the Mastodon gGmbH non-profit
@lunya your fedicrimes will be punished
@lunya that wouldve been better if my instance description wasnt like 3 paragraphs long :P
@kemona_halftau it's even better if your instance description contains HTML
@lunya @catsalad I wish I knew this when I was picking an instance

@shac @lunya @catsalad 😹

> Your gender is IOC.exchange, more specifically, INDICATORS OF COMPROMISE (IOC)
> InfoSec Community within the Fediverse. Newbies, experts, gurus - Everyone is Welcome! Instance is supposed to be fast and secure.

@catsalad : they banned me for demanding equal rights and justice.

Feeling at home now.

@shac @lunya @catsalad

@lunya Yes, we're pretty awesome here.

Big thanks to @Texan_Reverend for all his hard work.

what if your name is mastodon and your age is specifically 4.6.0-nightly.2025-12-02 and you are on activitypub
@[email protected] What about that being my secret third gender

RE: https://sk.lunya.pet/notes/afruiyjmxurj02gq

hmm what about your gender is 4.6.0-alpha.1+glitch

or your age is 1172

@[email protected] oh no, more ideas to add into my patch and abuse them in different ways

my implementation is that i get full nodeinfo and /api/v1/instance on my fingertips and I can just get the values of them lol

i plan to change handlebars to something like EJS so i get full javascript templating and do fedicrimes with js

Careful you may end up creating a turing complete programming language by accident
@[email protected] my implementation just replaces some templates, e.g. $INSTANCE$host $ with the values, not all of them though
@jbcrn @lunya I can Increment that
@lunya Yes, my gender is indeed the place for all the pondering wizzards and or frogs.
I mean I know you used variables but have you seen wafrn registration page?
@[email protected] the wafrn registration page should display all fedi instances it federates with as genders
@lunya oh you are good. I opened this on two separate accounts and instances just to see.
@lunya That makes so much more sense than the standard options.
@lunya correct my gender is hella gay thank you for noticing
@lunya wait, how did this happen?
@ralf the secret Fediverse magic of variables
@lunya

@lunya

:-) I knew I had seen it before 😄

@lunya it's funny that the description that shows up says this in this snippet

@lunya It is my home on Mastodon ❤️ People should very much read the rules before signing up -

“ This instance has some rules, of course.
First, the usual : no sexism, no racism, no hate speech, no LGBTQphobia, no nazis, no spam, no public unflagged porn, no climate change denial, etc...
Then, I also believe it's important to remind you that this server was made and is being run by a queer activist.
This server thrives to be inclusive, and I will ban without much regret.
People are encouraged to use the report function as they see fit, and can be confident that their complaints will be heard and dealt with in some way. I want everyone to feel safe here, and if that doesn't sound like something you like, you should probably find another server.”

@luskebux @lunya It is a very good server and a comfortable community of interesting people. Many thanks to @dashie for making it all possible.
@arclight @luskebux @lunya @dashie @jenbanim Huh? Is someone copying our server? @grok

@Reshirams_Rad_Slam this is a trick played by the original poster. The text reads:

Your gender is your instance, more specifically, your instance description

Everyone sees their own server's instance info. It's exploiting a quirk about how Mastodon works

@lunya sounds like a good idea for an instance
@lunya The Beige Botanicals, if you will.
@lunya it's not just the lifeline of #Sharkey but there are more
@lunya Can confirm, my Local feed is pretty sweet.

@lunya

Thank you. I updated my profile

@lunya There should be a variable syntax that even regular users can use for this.
@lunya how did you know?
@lunya This is the first one of these I've seen that gets my IDN domain right. Yes, you can have the letter "ö" in a domain name. Yes, many things break when you do.
@lunya My soldering is immaculate I'll have you know.
