I haven't posted to my "personal" blog in so long, the MarsEdit support I'd kept in for Blogspot didn't work. I had to write it in the web interface, like an animal! I'll move it to a better host soon, but in the meantime: "I'll Miss You Too." https://blog.punkitup.com/2025/11/ill-miss-you-too.html
Punk It Up!: I'll Miss You Too

@danielpunkass Nice read. We went through a similar situation with my kid (also 17), but that phase is over. He was accepted into and has enrolled in a school that’s a 3.5 hour drive from home. Close enough that we can see him play golf for the school. Far enough that he won’t be home every weekend. Now the fun part for me is figuring out how we pay for the school.
@kirbyt that sounds like a perfect distance! And yeah, the finances are gonna be intense here too.
@danielpunkass @kirbyt As a father of three, who’s youngest just started their freshman year this fall, I can tell you that you have a lot to look forward to, as well. Even one semester in, they change and become pretty cool adults. Especially if they really separate and don’t have the means to come home every weekend.
@agiletortoise @danielpunkass That’s good to hear. I am very curious to see who my son becomes once he’s out of the house. I joke with him that he’ll never survive on his own in college, but in reality, I know he’s gonna thrive.
