#Oops: The seminal (strongly influencing later developments) paper that has been used for 25 years to justify that the use of #Glyphosate is safe has been retracted.

"Concerns were raised regarding the authorship of this paper, validity of the research findings in the context of misrepresentation of the contributions by the authors and the study sponsor and potential conflicts of interest of the authors. "

This is the problem with capitalism. Corporations will do anything to make a buck. This includes poisoning us with roundup.

@AudioTinker

Corporations are *legally obliged* to make a buck in their terms of incorporation.

Sadly they're not legally obliged to run sustainable and productive businesses or to avoid harming the planet or it's living populations.

@jwildeboer

@ReggieHere @AudioTinker @jwildeboer That's where governments should step in to reign in capitalist entities - but unfortunately they are lobbied to hell and back not to( `'it will ruin the economy/cost jobs")

@ReggieHere @AudioTinker @jwildeboer

I think that may be a misapprehension, but I have no expertise on this, so here's a link to people saying it ain't so...

@Walrus

Yes, agreed - articles of association (in the UK) can include variety of payment options associated with Director pay, dividends and share issues and transfers, although it's usual for companies (cf. co-operatives or charities) to assume making an operating profit as standard and larger companies are often beholden to their shareholders to maximise profits and dividend payments.

My over-simplification.
