A few weeks ago, my city inaugurated a public fab lab next to the library. It mainly focuses on fabric, with things like embroidery and tufting, but it also has a CNC machine and other similar tools.

Today I was going to the library, so I decided to check how the fab lab was doing and... Looks like it's doing great!

I kind of feel bad for the librarian. It's one of her first days on the job I think (or at least I've never seen her before, and she looks very young). But she's there, ready to help patrons with any questions or problems regarding books or the library. Then I show up asking "Hey, do you know why there are chickens in the fab lab?" She didn't know.

Another librarian did tell me that there were going to be two theater plays for children in the community center where the fab lab is located, and the chickens were brought in for that. But she didn't know how the chickens were involved in the play(s), if at all, and I didn't stick around to watch because I had another event to go to elsewhere at the same time, so I guess I'll never know 🤷
