So…MIT has an AI incident tracker. It tracks and classifies the damage AI has done and harm it has caused. The classification is defined by seven key categories:
Discrimination/toxicity
Privacy/security
Misinformation
Malicious actors
HCI
Socioeconomic/environmental
System safety/failures/limitations
Tracked by AI. 😂
The irony pointed out by a handful of folks is that they compile this data with AI.
So…WTF
Mabe using an AI to track AI is part of the joke? Mabe the number of incidents will slowly decrease over time when the AI tries to make the numbers look good and helpful?
Multiple AI systems allegedly spread false claims in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination at Utah Valley University. Perplexity and Grok chatbots reportedly stated Kirk was alive, mischaracterized authentic video as satire, and wrongly identified Utah Democrat Michael Mallinson as the suspect. A Google AI Overview allegedly claimed Kirk was on Ukraine's Myrotvorets "enemies" list, a reported falsehood that echoed pro-Kremlin narratives.
