Today, if all goes well, we're off to Berlin with regional trains. And off to a bad start.
The 09.33 RE4 arrives on time, but is taken out of service after ten minutes of uninformed passengers waiting. So we're packing ourselves into the 09.58 - two train loads in one - which, although here and ready, is marked down for a ten minute delay.
It's going to be far from a stressfree day today.
To prevent any confusion, and probably because the digital signs on the train are not working, it's announced that this is the RE41 to Hamburg.
One of the advantages of being a bearded Scot in a kilt, I have a four-seat with table all to myself. No one wants to take a chance....
It's probably the only sport that gets me sweating these days....
I know the feeling. A week or so ago I wanted to get to Erfurt, but gave up before getting on the first train due to delays and cancellations. And, several times staying in hotels because so many trains have been cancelled...
And Frankfurt is always a problem, although I usually manage to dodge it on the way to Stuttgart.
