Update! I'm now the proud owner of a used sparkly black Ibanez Gio, a Katana:Go, cheap bag, and various picks for $340, from American Music. Dude was helpful and also gave me like $100 off the sticker price.

Heeeyyy Fedi!!! I have a question that I *know* a bunch of you are going to be able to answer.

For the past couple decades I've wanted an electric guitar, but my ex always shot it down. So, now that I've escaped that abusive relationship, and with it nearing the holidays again, I've decided I'm going to finally get one.

Last time I played guitar was in middleschool (and some bass in highschool), so I'm starting from scratch.

My constraints:
- 6 string electric guitar
- under $200
- used/hand me down is great
- pink would be awesome
- probably right-handed (because that's what I learned on)

Does anyone have a recommendation (or better yet, an old guitar near Seattle that could use the sweet, sweet love of a new owner?)

@alice see if you can find a squier affinity telecaster, they're really solid, playable guitars for not much and there's usually loads of 2nd hand ones about. the strats are good too, but not quite as good
@wav3ydave I'll +1 this, as my favourite guitar I own is a 2001 Affinity Telecaster. I also have a 1999 Affinity Strat, which is surprisingly nice to play and sounds quite convincing! @alice
@BackFromTheDud @alice i've got a 2003 (?) squier custom tele that i picked up for about Β£160 and it's without doubt the best Β£160 i ever spent
@wav3ydave I have one of those. The Dual Humbucker version, right? @alice
@BackFromTheDud @alice yeah with the P90s. it's a smashing guitar. i've ogled 'proper' fenders but it's so good i've never been able to justify it
@wav3ydave Mine is the H/H one, but yeah. I got a Squier VI bass. I didn't need it, I've never gigged it, but it looked cool AF and it plays nicely, after some work! @alice
@BackFromTheDud @alice i also desire one of them. and the 40th anniversary Jazzmaster
@wav3ydave I have a Squier Jazzmaster Baritone. In black on black. Again, I didn't NEED it, but DAMN it looks good!! @alice
