Update! I'm now the proud owner of a used sparkly black Ibanez Gio, a Katana:Go, cheap bag, and various picks for $340, from American Music. Dude was helpful and also gave me like $100 off the sticker price.

Heeeyyy Fedi!!! I have a question that I *know* a bunch of you are going to be able to answer.

For the past couple decades I've wanted an electric guitar, but my ex always shot it down. So, now that I've escaped that abusive relationship, and with it nearing the holidays again, I've decided I'm going to finally get one.

Last time I played guitar was in middleschool (and some bass in highschool), so I'm starting from scratch.

My constraints:
- 6 string electric guitar
- under $200
- used/hand me down is great
- pink would be awesome
- probably right-handed (because that's what I learned on)

Does anyone have a recommendation (or better yet, an old guitar near Seattle that could use the sweet, sweet love of a new owner?)

@alice Look at the Fender Squier series. They can be very good quality for the money

@BackFromTheDud @alice seconding Fender Squier, that's the type of guitar I have! I got it secondhand from someone who didn't have the privilege of good maintenance, and I've had a couple problems with it*, but none that cost me more than $5 so far lol

*Missing a string, doesn't sound like a Guitar Type problem
*Plastic nut broke when someone tried to push a bigger string into where the high e should go with pliers, then the B string broke it more bc I kept playing before fixing it lol

@BackFromTheDud @alice the strings and pickups are rusty but they work just fine. I haven't actually broken a string yet, somehow, but again that doesn't sound like something that depends too much on the type of guitar. I got a replacement nut for $5, but if one was available I would've gotten a bone replacement for $10, which would prolly solve the problem if my broken nut has anything to do with the guitar quality
Seems more like a fuck up that I'm glad happened to a cheap guitar tho
