Folks, it doesn’t matter that Schumer voted “no”. He got the Dem caucus on board with caving. THEN the caucus figured out who should vote yes to provide cover for D Sens up for reelection in 2026, who might have been in serious danger of being primaried. As for the retiring D Senators, doing their colleagues this favor now serves their interest in post-retirement lobbying access and influence. 1/

They'll vote. All the Rs will vote no except the few who are at risk with zero chance of getting 60.

THAT'S THE ENTIRE REASON FOR FIGHTING FOR THE ACA SUBSIDIES TO FUND THE GOVERNMENT!

It's the only time they need D votes.
