It's always nice when you can finally try on the thing after hours upon hours of work put into it, and it actually fits? Anyway, the corset has just the busk and two bones and the back so I've not tightened it... But pretty good! This one won't probably need very many bones, really, but I'm gonna stare at these clips and the photos I took to figure out where I want them. (Slightly skimpy fitting GIFs!)

#TheTweeEmmaCorset

Might trim and shape the front upper edge a bit, but that's not very complicated at all, once I have the boning channels in. Ah, now I need to brain though... Dialling brain, please brain

Deciding where the boning channels go is a bit of a slog, as I'm juggling two facets of engineering:
Where the thing would do the most good & where I can be bothered to put it so it's not the most amount of hassle possible.

During these 4.5h I have managed to decide on the location of two bones, and am still struggling with the third!

Well. The good thing about putting the boning channel in one place, taking it off, and then trying it in four different places, and then going back to the first one... At least you know it's the best spot. 😢
Finally have the boning channels machine basted in place, and also four whole channels mostly actually properly topstitched in place... There's a bit I still need to do, and am already tired so more precision work should definitely be left for tomorrow when I have more patience and more manual dexterity.
I'm going to unpick a bunch of wandering stitches, might be too tired for photo of the insides today, the corset does not wish to lie flat!

Behold my heroic efforts! Firstly the eleven million times I tried different placements for the back boning channels, as denoted by all these little scars in the fabric... The boning tape is lovely but also very thick so I tried very hard to not overlap the flat felled seams too much. Applaud also me posting these photos after all, am tired.

My heart really wants to go over some of the topstitching from the right side with some sort of faintly contrasting thread, making them a little bit more visible. Maybe I will.

Earlier I was mystified by how tired my hands are before I remembered I put in the eyelets today, also. I think. Time is befrumpled, who knows what day this is now. There is no time, there is only corset.
