@gruber Speaking as a lifelong Californian and a Democrat since my 18th birthday,
Nah.
We can do better, and we should.
@gruber Maybe I just see more of him because I live in IL, but Pritzker has my vote.. Nobody would vote for a larger guy from the midwest, though.
@JPZ Why wouldnāt people vote for a large guy from the Midwest? I think those āpeople wonāt vote for a person who is ____ā are all nonsense. Obama put that to rest IMO.
People will vote for a candidate who is confident, loose, funny, inspiring, and comes across as trying to win votes. What they donāt like is a stiff who is trying not to lose votes ā which is how most candidates run.
@gruber I sure hope you're right, and I think both Newsom and Pritzker could be those people. I just think that if they're going to go up against each other in a debate, not only would I love to see it, but will still be backing whomever wins the nom.
I still think JB is more ārealā, even though he's got more money than I can imagine. More of a āman of the people" than Newsom. My 2 cents..
@gruber It's hard to ignore when you hear the same tune like clockwork every four years.
Hillary didn't support gay marriage fast enough.
Biden was too old.
Harris didn't support Gaza enough.
Newsom is anti trans.
Whoever the candidate and whatever the issue: it gets amplified beyond proportion, people disengage, voters stay home. Even when there is no better candidate, and when the opposition is way worse on all counts.
It's just so depressing to see it happening again, even from afar.
