Anthers is an explosive band that plays an aggressive version of angry alt-rock with plenty of punk sensibilities intertwined with some industrial textures. They are a power trio based in Seattle with a propulsive sound that fires on all cylinders. There is a thin post-punk layer to their music in a way that may be reminiscent of bands like IDLES and Gilla Band at their core. That said, they are not actually on overdrive at all times, though they still keep the level of intensity still fairly high, even when they drop the noise levels down a notch or two. The primal style of vocalist-guitarist E.J. Tolentino is a big factor in their sound, and so is the rhythm section, which keeps the ball rolling.
