I would be glad to donate to the #Python project, but doing so requires me to divulge my name and contact information as per their 501(c)(3) charitable organisation status:

"Contact information is required for tax reporting purposes and will be shared only with the US government."

Considering the current status of the US government, I don't feel comfortable doing this. Are there some other ways to donate to Python project without getting the US government involved?

@harrysintonen @ThePSF if you have a serious threat model here around your contact info being abused by the US state as the result of a donation, indeed dont.

If it is purely around comfort, not safety, might be worth evaluating whether your response is proportionate. PSF is putting serious skin in the game, worth reciprocating if you appreciate them. I dont know about u, but id the US state apparatus wanted my home address, I am sure they can get it regardless of donating.

@chartgerink @harrysintonen @ThePSF I'd think that it is not so much about the address but more about the fact that you donated to an "unwanted" organization? Which might have consequences the next time you try to enter the US.
@schmic @chartgerink @harrysintonen @ThePSF if that actually happens, entering the USA will be an extremely risky idea anyway
