There is no doubt. There is no denying, but they're trying to act like there's "nothing to see here". People will lose faith on reading newspapers for this.

@DemocracyMattersALot In fairness, WaPo has also had a lot of coverage of the East Wing story that's been rather unflattering to Trump.

I certainly agree that changes to the White House should be made by a nonpartisan architectural committee rather than POTUS ruling by decree.

But strategically speaking, in a country where people watching Independence Day in theaters cheered when aliens blew up the White House, I don't think this is a very good hill for the anti-MAGA movement to die on.
