i am tired of the "feminist" discourse esp in transfem spaces that goes like:

"I really like being weird and cool and being like this"

"no those things you like about yourself are symptoms of the patriarchy. we need to get rid of sexuality and weirdness that is too weird because it is just you being oppressed (ignore the fact that we're using the same rhetoric and reasoning as TERFs and conservatives)"

no. weird identity rebels and people who wholeheartedly and unashamedly own their kinks and sexuality are the best kind of trans people actually. this is how we refuse to allow patriarchal systems to own us. kill the cop in your head.

@pleasantaura why yes, member of a marginalized group who are typically only allowed to express their sexuality for the consumption of others, your reclaiming and de-commodifying your sexuality is anti-feminist actually

@YKantRachelRead there is a post to be made someday about the co-opting of asexuality to be used as a weapon of shame (and reinforcing internalized shame) by certain allegedly feminist circles but I do not have that post in me today

as an aroace person it is very frustrating to occasionally join a space and have my identity conflated with "sexuality and kink are evil and gross and should not exist except in the bedroom as a commodified and objectified resource", usually by other aroace people

actually i think i already made a post about my aroace identity which touches on this but it's on another blog of mine so maybe i'll look it up sometime and link it or repost it

@YKantRachelRead there we go, posted it over here. it's a bit old and for a more general audience of creatives but I think it might be an okay post possibly (TLA approved of it at the time)
