@cryptadamist by the way about the Argentina gold Tether debacle. I have looked into it. Have you considered the lead to the calls of Germany and Italy to repatriate the gold they have in US? There is this unspoken truth that everyone believe the US has got no shit, the Chinese are under reporting and the Italians and the Germans wants to give time to the US to find a way to say they have it so there's no reason to repatriate it. Hence the war in Ukraine and the sudden weaponry debt EU->US.

@cryptadamist So the Argentinian gold is only known to have been moved outside argentina from their admissions. Not where. The volume isn't a huge deal. It's the point the US can still move gold around with its printing press. So the US can still get to gold wherever gold is. This is my hunch. 😁

@splinux in what sense? tether is (theoretically) backed by real dollars so if tether becomes more popular that just means the dollar is becoming more popular.

Yes, exactly. Tether has Treasury Bonds as collaterals like 100+ Billions, i.e. American debt that one buys with... dollars that they rack up on the crypto space or elsewhere but ultimately "printed" by US. So Tether (but all Stables listed in dollars) are being forced to have a blacklisting of addresses as well, like if they were all in SWIFT, ultimately fully under US control. So yeah, the new Dollar in the sense faster. Am i skipping steps?

@cryptadamist because it's an offshore printer. Their audit is "trust me bro". And it's a powerful tool becoming bigger amd bigger. If today they can absorb 100b treasury and tomorrow China wants, I dunno, dump 100b a year for the next 5 years maybe they'll be buffed up enough to be able to rack them up and btc goes ⤴️. if it's not already what is going on. So it will be looking like the market is interested in US Treasury. I don't know, this shit is standing up by a techno financial miracle.
