@nixCraft I love it (the website is fun to read too!)
@nixCraft Excellent and sooo true "malheuresement !"
@nixCraft I'm gonna print this and put it in my fridge to scare the shit out of my home mate
@nixCraft Internyet if they're honest

@nixCraft

"We value your privacy -- at around $3.75"

@nixCraft Only 847? The really good sites have 1000+ or even 1500+ partners.
@nixCraft I find myself using TOR a lot and it works just fine most of the time.
@N0tSure @nixCraft Unfortunately, using Tor only hides your network location, and maybe does things like not leak as much information about your web browser. Any information you give the website yourself, like entering data, keyboard and mouse habits, etc, is not protected at all.
@nixCraft I suppose it's fair to add, whatever I click in response to your request, I'm running uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger and I won't let you track me anyway. And I'll also never see anything your advertising partners try to fling at me. So why bother asking and wasting both our time?

@nixCraft If only all real sites admitted to GDPR infringements in writing up front so that it was easy to tell on them to the regulators.

Really someone(s) should write a crawler to find sites that track you when you do not consent to them doing so and publish the results to shame them.

I think at least Meta and Alphabet already have huge EU fines pending due to them ignoring non-consent or acceptable use of data, it is illegal to just collect data in case it gets useful.

@nixCraft This page just made my fucking day!! I can't stop laughing XD (And crying internally)

@nixCraft you know you can simply copy the cookie banner's text into the #altText4you ?
"We Value Your Privacy (Not Really)

This website uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, WebSQL, browser fingerprinting, canvas fingerprinting, and probably your mom's maiden name to track literally everything you do. We share this data with 847 trusted partners including but not limited to: advertisers, data brokers, that sketchy startup in the Caymans, and anyone willing to pay $0.003 per record.

By clicking "Accept All" you agree to let us sell your data. By clicking "Reject All" you agree to let us sell your data anyway. By clicking "Customize" you get to pretend you have a choice while we still sell your data."

@nixCraft
I absolutely love this. And it's all true.

@nixCraft

I just appreciate the transparency.

@nixCraft πŸ˜† Yes, that's right.
@nixCraft Strangely, I trust them!
@nixCraft I can't seem to get the 847 cookies being set. Does Claude possibly dump them as "little text files(tm)"? πŸ˜‰
@nixCraft omg the "Someone asked" link probably doxxing the person who asked is just πŸ‘Œ
@nixCraft the data privacy agencies mill very slowly

@nixCraft "Architecture? Tests? Documentation? Nah bro, we just vibe with it. The AI knows best, probably."

haha

@nixCraft I never even feel safe clicking "reject all", but I don't know what to do other than ignore that pop up entirely (which I usually do)
@nixCraft i'm 50/50 spit on whether this website is actually LLM generated or not, becuase no LLM could be this funny

@nixCraft

Yeah. That's what I figured. 😞

@nixCraft with a #Klangphonics concert stock photo. Nice! (Steal everything, but claim "AI made me do it".)
@nixCraft
Only 847 trusted partners. N00bs.
