#nighttrain -life again! On my way with the family on the first announced-as-cancelled than reinstated EN 346 from Berlin to Stockholm. This time residing in a quite luxurious private sleeping cabin. With a shower! Never showered on a train before, wondering if I should try it. The idea seems quite absurd…
The ride is part of a trip all the way to Lapland, including the Santa Claus Express by VR. Looking forward to 2m-beds, will only believe it when lying in them.

@electricmonk The idea for the trip was born based on a blog post by the best German train travel blog there is, @zugpost by @sebwilken .
Thanks to that my daughter is expecting owl-themed linen on the night train from Turku to Rovaniemi (as seen here: https://zugpost.org/nachtzug-lappland/). Hope they’ll deliver ;).
Will be good to be in Turku again, studied there on Erasmus 21 years ago.

@electricmonk @zugpost Welcome! Unfortunately, VR seems to be phasing out the owl bedding, I haven't seen it for quite some time. But the beds are as large and magnificent as ever 🙂

@sebwilken @zugpost Just an update on my night train experience from Turku to Rovaniemi. It was perfect so far, however in Kemi the train ended unexpectedly due to „power problems“. I guess something with the line to Rovaniemi, as the train still had power.
Where the German-DB-trained mind entered catastrophy-mode, everything went perfectly smooth for there on. 5 coaches were provided within like 15 min. Now on our way to Rovaniemi with a nice view in 1st row!

@electricmonk @zugpost Oh no, too bad! But good they found a solution for the problem. Matches my experience with VR, very accommodating and customer friendly in case something goes wrong.
