I know typedrawers was having trouble with SSL cert acceptance, which was plaguing folks in some countries or regions. But now it has hit me as well.

Anybody else having NEW inability to access typedrawers.com, where they could prior to some time in the last couple of weeks?

@tphinney I can’t figure it out. Along with Vanilla upping my fee $200 this year and randomly changing CSS, I’m getting pretty annoyed with the whole endeavor.

@JTDType @tphinney That sounds frustrating indeed. I wonder what options exist for porting the forum to another backend (something open source?). and perhaps moving to a new host? While preserving the content, of course. It would be a great shame to lose yet another decade+ of type related discussion (especially as this time we’ve all mostly behaved quite well).

In the meantime, can people contribute to the running costs?

@TiroTypeworks @JTDType Is it still working for y’all and for most people?

(Besides my own trouble, I am just genuinely curious.)

First I was at the hospital a lot, and couldn’t access it from there. But it was still ok from home. Only... now not from home either. :/

@tphinney @TiroTypeworks @JTDType When I was in Cambridge the other day, I could not access from the Inn where I was staying. But not a problem back at home. 🤷‍♂️
@kentlew @tphinney @TiroTypeworks @JTDType as Michele Casanova explained in the forum, some links generated in vanilla software are considered a backdoor causing the site to be reported as spam. https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/issues/7308#issuecomment-3311789622

@tphinney @JTDType I have not had any trouble at all connecting to TypeDrawers. I think the issues are ISP-specific, i.e. some ISPs are choosing to block TypeDrawers due to security concerns around Vanilla.
@tphinney now it works for me (in Barcelona) but it was off for weeks.
