I’m intrigued by @pixelfed but I’m a bit ignorant about two things I’d like to understand:

How can I use it with @Mastodon?
Is there a way to keep using #Instagram too? (It’s my connection to a lot of younger friends.)

@signorz to use it with Mastodon you can look up Pixelfed accounts with the account search here and follow people that are on it. People on Pixelfed can do the same for any Mastodon account.

@ikuturso thanks! But if I want to join @pixelfed, what are the best practices? Can I log in using my @Mastodon account? If so, what happens next? Sorry for the questions!

@signorz you can use a Mastodon account to login but it is just for authenticating with Mastodon, you do still get an entirely separate pixelfed account.
