Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 with the understanding it would only be released after her death. In it, she discusses blasting Trump and Musk deep into space and shares the message, "Don't lose hope"

People like this should lead.
People like her are the light needed.

@Uddelhexe @joyousjoyness agreed. Hopefully the posthumous clause isnt true, just let these ppl know were onto them and keep it pushing. Playing dumb Is the biggest problem of all

@joyousjoyness Thanks for sharing! I stand the full 100% behind Jane Goodall her message for Humanity! โ€œdo your best while youbare still on the beautiful planet earthโ€.

Similar message conveyed yesterday evening by #Sterrin Smalbrugge in a theater full of kids, ยซ we are all part of the tree of lifeยป.

@joyousjoyness aw jeez, I thought this was going to be all vengeful and fun but now someone's cutting onions in here
@joyousjoyness I just watched this. So look, I'm an atheist, I'm not that enamored of human consciousness, nor do I accept that free will is a thing. All this being said, Jane Goodall was an exemplary human being with a deep compassion for all life, not just her own. It's a worthwhile watch. And, I recommend it.
@lednaBM @joyousjoyness I'm unsure how you can reconcile atheism and predeterminism. kinda weird especially given the context lmao
@etsyy @joyousjoyness I don't see how you can't reconcile them. In the context of Goodall, she was at the end of her life and, like most people, didn't want to accept the fact that she would not see others from her life after death. She clearly also believed in free will. She talked about seeing one of her husbands after his death. My wife and parents are dead now. I talk at them, knowing full well I'm just trying to adjust my psyche. I don't actually believe I'm really talking to them.
@joyousjoyness Power in the darkness. ๐Ÿ’™
@joyousjoyness when just anyone says words like these, they might sound empty. But when she says them, it brings me to tears. She knows and feels them, she is absolutely sincere and intentional about them.  I hope she's okay and I hope we'll be.

@joyousjoyness I have lost hope. She kept it up for 90 years but I can't keep believing it's going to be ok when the evidence suggests the opposite. I wish it was as easy as just blasting the bastards into space.

@adamantichrist @joyousjoyness

The evidence suggests that the world becomes less violent and more inclusive. Jane Goodall found that chimpanzees also fight wars, kill migrants, rape. Humans developed law, courts, and trade. Therefore Wars happen less, with fewer casualties. I found Steven Pinker's "The Better Angels of Our Nature" a good source. Read it. We progress towards peace.

With climate change and biodiversity, the general pathway is bad. Don't watch the Orange Utan in the USA throwing shit. You will find no solution there. Look at the heroes, who already solved the climate crisis by acting. Look at Denmark! https://ccpi.org/country/dnk/

I based my hope on fact + stubborn optimism. It works. https://youtu.be/KVVW5eGiETI?si=UmGQ_Rr6kTIlYG-0

Denmark, at 4th, remains the top climate performer in the CCPI. Its historic agreement on greener agriculture, advances in renewable energy, and central role in financial support for loss and damage are among the highlights.

@joyousjoyness I just watched the whole video. Unusual for me, and difficult to admit, but I actually cried.
@joyousjoyness I love her.
Sheโ€™s one of my heroes.
