Well sir, it appears that legal minds with gavels are concerned, what with the blatant corruption and whatnot.

The judge has just *re-opened* the case, a thing almost unheard of post settlement, and is wondering if the DOJ has "committed fraud against the court".

I am not familiar with court protocol, so I didn't even know a case could be reopened, I'll be honest. I cannot wait to see DOJ try to explain this theft though.

There are few technologies I can think of with cheerleaders so irrationally exuberant as fans of nuclear power. Sorry to harp on this again, but I feel like fans of nuclear power are some of the simultaneously most vocal and most misinformed people on the Internet.

Nuclear power has delivered practically nothing in terms of new capacity this century. Electricity demand doubled globally and nuclear power capacity increases are effectively rounding error. The vast majority of that new generation capacity came from renewables.

Nuclear power fans act like conspiracy theorists: the reason capacity hasn’t increased is because there’s technology has been unfairly maligned by the ignorant, who are irrationally afraid. Of course the complete opposite is happening and we’re in the most pro-nuclear climate since before Three Mile Island.

And yet new nuclear power has not magically materialized. Every project outside China is a decade late, tens of billions overbudget, and adds a couple GW

Okay, I'll give you that: LLMs aren't the root of the problem.

Capitalism is. The idea of infinite growth. The idea that people can't just live, they must with 40+ hours a week to justify their existence, and they must be purchasing something all the time. Companies must keep selling new stuff. All the resources must be tapped into and exploited.

And companies are making software. They must keep selling new features and pointless complete redesigns nobody wanted. The code must keep being churned over and over again. Programmers must justify their existence by churning out absurd amounts of meaningless code. The companies must exploit them.

Then, companies are entering the #OpenSource "market". They are acquiring and enshittifying. They are hiring and exploiting. And then so many volunteers just jump on the bandwagon and keep cosplaying them. And they too churn out useless code, "sell" pointless complete makeovers, "profit" off their users (even if they actually aren't making any real profit).

And then come LLMs, perfect tools for the job. Perfect tools for exploitation, for churning out useless code, for creating addiction, and for turning everyone into mindless corpospeak bullshit machines.
