I've been trimming subscriptions recently.
Disney cancelled (Just before the Kimmel stuff)
Paramount cancelled (Until a new Star Trek season starts)
XBox Game Pass Ultimate because WTF were they thinking with the 50% increase?!... reduced to Essentials.
Apple One reduced to Apple Music and iCloud Family only
Fortnite Crew cancelled
I imagine the next company subscription I cancel will be the next one to do something stupid š
I should also add that I cancelled Amazon Prime and completely closed the account.
@andycarolan Amazon's UX is so efficient that it makes buying anything - a book, a multipack of noodles, a single screw - ludicrously easy and cheap but adds so much wasted packaging and mileage to overall consumption.
And their business is aggressively predatory too. They threatened to sue the company my mother worked for because the company refused to sell their products on Amazon, on Amazon's awful terms.
As a business they are very much not a net good for the world.
@bendaubney I was finding that their UX was pretty awful tbh, searching for LEGO for example, would promote off-brand kits or unrelated products. It used to be better, but I think it ended up trying to sell what it wanted, rather than what the customer asked for.
Oh wow, that's awful about the company your mother worked for! I mean, how can they justify suing for a company not wanting to join?!

We recently ditched Amazon Prime; that was a big deal given Iāve had it since 2012. Just couldnāt justify giving Bezos more money anymore. Weāve been ordering needed items direct instead. Takes a few minutes longer during ordering, and a few days longer for delivery, but there really isnāt anything we need *right now*.

Much like yourself, I really didn't want to give Bezos any more of our money. Anything I need urgently, I can get locally anyway... anything else is almost as quick tbh
