It's October, here we go again! Also how is it October already?

Starting off with a quick one after a late toddler bedtime.

Inktober day 1: Mustache

Decided to add a little colour splash today.

Day 2: Weave(r bird)

His Majesty demands a tithe of your finest cheeses

Inktober day 3: Crown

"You were supposed to be out of the marsh by sunset."

I really want to work out a better way of indicating the wake of a boat with ink, but this'll do for tonight.

I blame this one entirely on listening to the Witcher soundtrack tonight

Inktober day 5: deer

A water shrew catching some dinner

Did you know: water shrews are venomous

Inktober day 6: Pierce

Too much No Man's Sky and too little time or energy tonight combine to bring you: A star fish. Get it? I am a comedian.

I never really do spaceships, so I figured I'd give it a go.

Inktober day 7: Starfish

I don't know about this one lads...

Inktober day 8: Reckless

Would've liked to spend a little more time on this one than I did, but it's been a long one today.

If you were wondering "did you really plan out a month's worth of rodent ideas for these prompts?"; yes, yes I did.

Inktober day 9: Heavy (rain)

#inktober #inktober2025 #ink #drawing #mice

This month really is turning into Beatrix Potter-core, although I'm not sure that's such a bad thing.

Inktober day 10: Sweep

My son decided that 10pm is a responsible time for a 3-year-old to go to sleep so tonight's is a rushed bee to not miss a day. Based on a photo my dad took. I am now going to go fall over.

Inktober day 11: Sting

@tidelines
Matt, I saw your drawing and was just so happy to see this little cute blob under a mashroom in the rain. And then your first sentence hit me really hard. I've been working on a clothing item for a week now and still stress that so much could be done and detailed and improved and embelished. I will be fine. You are fine.

It's an amazing picture. Thank you.

@kexe the curse of the perfectionist, we can always see a hundred things we want to improve and at some point we need to just accept that it's actually good enough already! Thank you for the kind words, and good luck with the clothesmaking.
@tidelines this one is amazing :

@tidelines

Oh, that is a riot!! I do like your work.

@tidelines Maybe its because I'm watching the myth busters channel on Pluto tv but I want to call them Adam and Jamie.

@tidelines

Sort of sums up my morning. Headlong onwards, but direction, destination, and whether I'll stop in time, is unknowable.

@tidelines Love, love, love the drawing.

Can't help thinking about what happens when they launch and roll backwards at a high rate of speed.

@tidelines they are living the life <345

@tidelines

hope you don't mind that i animated it?

@amiserabilist completely unexpected and brilliant, thank you

@tidelines

a pleasure matt.

@tidelines Your water shrew is so, so charming and adorable, I like this pic very much (I'm a sucker for wind-in-the-willows style of anthropomorphic animals, so this hits the spot)
@einar When l was younger a big part of what started me drawing animals how I do was Wind in the Willows and Beatrix Potter so it's a huge compliment to hear that's what you see in it, thank you!
@tidelines
Not a chance. No one gets my cheese!
