MandaOMG, I totally misread this. Whoops. Prior comment deleted. It's been a day.
Yeah, Jesus is way more hippie radical than the modern church. He treated everyone like equals and constantly questioned the status quo.
But mostly, I find it fascinating that he doesn't directly address sexuality at all. Just how you should treat other people.
It's the other NT authors that get all up in people's personal business.
@Strandjunker I'm non-religious, but was raised catholic (the brain washing didn't work). I'm pretty sure jesus could be one of the biggest progressives in history! Funny how the christian right forget what the man was about
JD@Strandjunker Haters gonna hate. They find it easier, and they don't have to admit they have lost their ways. The teachers of the Law in Jesus's day plotted the demise of the very saviour they were waiting for abiding by the old Law. They would not open their hearts to the Truth, and neither will these deep ditch devoted Christo-fascists. They need but turn to Jesus and be healed, but they have grown out of touch and full of hateful deceit and corrupting power. The Bible teaches that God shows us how these cycles go, and to be mindful of the pitfalls and false teachers. How easily we forget, have forgotten, and will forget again in the future.
