I personally think UK-based folks have a personal duty to defy the OSA.
No idea how that'd go but uh... OSA is a load of horseshit and you should do the right thing by not obeying a single thing required by it.
I am not a lawyer. But this is your time to act (or not act at all by not lifting a finger to react to its demands).
Folks all talking about protesting and rioting etc and then give in to the simplest things.
There's no way they can reach so many small-potatoes operations. Fuck 'em.
@clarkiestar @colinstu "Online Safety Act". They made a law requiring "highly effective age assurance" for things like... uh... forums. Because What If Someone Posts Porn!!!.
And of /course/ requiring it for porn sites and suchlike too. Give your ID to this random sketchy company so you can see lewd stuff, they're /totally/ trustworthy and not keeping tabs on what stuff you're watching! </s>
@colinstu This is why I keep telling people the US gov't (not Trump) will not prosecute any of the criminals/legislators. It's all 'legal', with the bonus cake icing of literal POTUS immunity.
US gov will not survive long term until the GOP fascists are removed root and stem. And that won't happen in the current gov't.
My example is US Reconstruction. It wasn't done with the South involved; while it technically was the 'same' gov't, the problem had willingly seceded from the gov't paving the way to reset and pass amendments and such.
@colinstu And closer at home. Legality in tax evasion is still amoral and a stain on all judges, lawyers, notary who contribute to its existance.
