Cat WestATTENTION: I just learned that the DoW (formerly DoD) made it impossible for military stationed overseas to vote by mail: Ballots used to be FAXED to their Sec of (each) state, but now the FAX system has been removed. This has disenfranchised a LOT of voters.

W6KMETrump's order made DoW acceptable as a secondary name for DoD, but did NOT change the name of the Department. It is still Department of Defense. We should continue use that name, rather than giving in to the theater.

@SpaceLifeForm Ballots cannot be forwarded. You have to change your mailing address with Sec State agency in charge of Voter registration. If you are overseas, that means you have to gain a ballot by going online but you have to FAX it to your home state. The only FAX acceptable for military ballots has been decommissioned. All military mail goes through one clearing house. You can’t send by mail and expect it to arrive in time. Some will, most won’t. If you change your addy, it req’s FAX
@SpaceLifeForm LDJ btw, also stalls mail for weeks at a time especially around voting time. That’s another reason a lot of people FAX in their absentee ballots. Vote by mail is fine if you are IN the US to begin with but overseas mail is what they broke the post office (Dept) for. Ballots seem to take a lot longer— last time mine took 3 weeks from when I mailed it to when it was received. Prior to 2016 it took 6 days.

@bmalsuj Military used to mainly vote republican. But now, since he’s made such a fool of our military and denied them raises, and is throwing out the women in leadership, and transgender… they’re not happy with him nor the republicans and it’s a risk he doesn’t want to take.
