@scy it also means going hungry, just like in English (breakfast comes from it). So is "fast food" food you can eat while fasting?

@fnordius Well, "fasten" means to go hungry. But you could probably indeed take the stem from that and build a word like "Fast-Food".

@scy Thanks for inducing me to dig into the difference between "kaum" and "fast". Interestingly, I though of "kaum" as worse, but *technically* something that is barely food is still food, but something which is almost food is not, so there you go.
