Me looking at my cool gray hair in the mirror and realizing I have outlived the highest possible age I at one time believed I would ever achieve by well over a decade: Omg I love being old

Me attempting to use my knees for any purpose: Omg I hate being old

@mcc yoga, running, and running shoes with huge amounts of cushioning help!

I'm not sure I love passing the half century, but it definitely beats the alternative..

@mcc
I can relate. I know once thought i wouldn't make it to 26. Turned 68 this summer. Ditto the knees. 😊
@mcc it's the best and worst!
@mcc i hate being old :(
@mcc knees so crunchy, grey racing stripes at my temples, heart still beating.
@mcc having broken a seeming curse for the eldest male familial line (first in 4 generations to make it past 52) I am now discovering the joy of aging knees and other such fun. I wish now I had taken more care of my meatsuit when I thought it wasn't going to be my long term home!
@mcc Old age is OK if it wasn't for all those ailments it's bringing along with it πŸ€” 😟 πŸ™„
@mcc for the latter: exercise helps!
@PeterSommerlad as long as it's not jogging on concrete, yes…
@mcc @PeterSommerlad the fraction of my time that I have to spend doing squats in order for my knees to allow me to do any other exercise seems to go up dramatically with age. By 50 I expect to spend just as much time on squats as on whatever activity I actually want to be doing.
@mcc It gets worse πŸ˜€
@mcc 18 y/o me honestly and repeatedly said, that when I would turn 30, I would probably sit in a wheelchair and roll off a cliff. Now I'm over 40 with kids and train Judo. Young people are stupid 🀣
