@wendynather Ummmmm… this arrangement is standard in Europe. Less so in hotels, but absolutely in private homes.

@thinkling It’s different when it’s a tiny hotel room. Never seen it before on this scale, and I’ve travelled and lived in Europe and the rest of the world. For the sake of jet-lagged people, they should at least have a warning sign that says “the toilet is back around the corner, right next to the front door, which you DID NOT SEE COMING IN because the door to the room OPENS TO COVER IT.”
