Yay, peppers!!!

I’m growing 8 varieties of peppers. All germinated in early March. I just picked my first one, a beautiful deep red “Round of Hungary.” There are lots of green peppers of all sizes, and they are just now starting to ripen. We’ve had a very cool summer so everything is really slow to ripen. These will all continue to ripen until March as long as it doesn’t get too cold. Peppers are so good, they are worth the wait! :-)

@saprentice A way to ripen peppers when the frost nights are coming is to take them indoors in the warmth. Therefore cut off the branches with the pods still on them. Remove all the leaves and put the branches into a vase with water. So far I did that only with hot peppers though.

That sounds interesting! I may give that a try if the situation arises. Thanks!

@saprentice I'm curious if it works as good with the big sweet pepper as it does with the chilies.

I’ll let you know if I get the opportunity. It’ll be many months before I’m likely to get any frost.
