Thanks for the reminder to cancel Disney+. As my wacky Jethro Tull loving high school history teacher used to say, "you gotta hit 'em in the pocketbook". That was his primary take from all of U.S. History. And he's right. So let's really hit them where it hurts: the money.
(deep movie style voiceover) It wasn't a mistake
@codinghorror han puesto una oferta para que la gente vuelva xDDD
@codinghorror I was thinking Ron Howard voice over from Arrested Development.
@codinghorror Sure faster than Apple or Microsoft - Apple says it'll take two weeks (but actually takes 3-4 weeks before it's gone), Microsoft flat out takes 3 months as a baseline duration before deleting your account.
@arisummerland well, I kinda hate Kimmel and I think he sucks, UNLESS he brings back The Man Show.
@codinghorror And while you have residual time, and if you have happen to have a spare device, constantly stream their content to absolutely minimize how much profit they might've made from you.
@suquamish there are more productive uses of that time and effort, I would think
@codinghorror Mine from Friday, Hulu+Disney:
@codinghorror I was bummed that when I cancelled Hulu they didn't give me a textbox to enter a reason
Don't forget to do the same with all other subscription services, and I mean it - Paramount, HBO, Spotify, YouTube, even Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo - they're all either being actively complicit with the evils of our time, or about to do so. Start moving your life to a curated list of copyleft and public-domain works for your entertainment, or better yet, create those works yourself with the free time you will gain.
@codinghorror Your teacher told you "it's an old expression
But I must insist it's true", is what this Tull fan is taking away

@codinghorror

Hitting them in the pocketbook leads to me having currently a savings rate of about 60%.
I have fun with that.

@codinghorror Not as eloquent as some because I figured the closest they'd come to reading would be stats on the keyword "Kimmel" or similar. Agree it's mostly about kicking them in the bottom line. And every little bit helps.

@codinghorror

My ISP put the app on my TV.... I removed it.
It is still there
