@KirbySSM #Texts (as in #SMS messages) never were private!

And thus #XMPP+#OMEMO & #PGP/MIME are the only.option, because unlike #Signal and others they can be setup and run in away they can't snitch on users!

@kkarhan It's true that SMS messages were not private, but Chat Control will directly affect end to end encrypted messaging platforms like Signal, and other platforms like iMessage (both of which I would consider texting). The lay person is unaware of protocols like XMPP, but it would be cool.

@KirbySSM Yeah, but said platfirms being #proprietary, #centralized & #SingleVendor / #SingleProvider and unwilling to mobilize their user base are part of the problem, not the solution.
