Yay, peppers!!!

I’m growing 8 varieties of peppers. All germinated in early March. I just picked my first one, a beautiful deep red “Round of Hungary.” There are lots of green peppers of all sizes, and they are just now starting to ripen. We’ve had a very cool summer so everything is really slow to ripen. These will all continue to ripen until March as long as it doesn’t get too cold. Peppers are so good, they are worth the wait! :-)

@saprentice @redcrew I will admit I did not read the seed packets properly, nor did I do the math, but I thought I did something wrong when my peppers are first coming through now. Snack peppers and regular bell peppers. Bell peppers are still mini-sized. These are all the unheated greenhouse so they will be sheltered for a while, but I feel a bit relieved to read your experiences so I don't feel I did something terribly wrong (zone 7b).

Peppers can be really slow to ripen if you don’t have good sun. Mine only get 4-6 hours per day at best. We don’t get any serious frost so they seem to keep producing through winter, outdoors. An unheated greenhouse should help a lot for a while, but from what I recall of Danish winters, they may not make it all the way through! :-)
