I knew John, and although he got wilder and crazier in later years, I've always found it difficult to believe *his* suicide as well.
But yes there is a similarity between the two cases, definitely.
(I'm not sure why some in this thread seem to approve of his death -- he didn't do anything like Epstein did)

The major difference is that unlike John McAfee, Larry Ellison hasn't been caught exploring romance with whales (yet), but perhaps that's why Ellison bought a private island.
