fedi instances really need a rule prohibiting reply guys lol, it's a common complaint I'm seeing about Mastodon and fedi over on other sites.

I saw people recommending Mastodon because of a recent Bluesky ToS thing and I can't see people from Bluesky moving here unless those people are dealt with.

Like, have a look at this recent post and its replies/quotes: https://bsky.app/profile/kim-hu.com/post/3lzbfbsdsac2b

CW culture is one thing but this artist was telling me she keeps constantly being yelled at by fediverse users for reasons from people not wanting to see an ant robot to mentioning she had a Bluesky account.

If people want this place to be better for artists and especially as a Bluesky alternative, we need to make it so the Reply Guys and people yelling over CWs for mundane things don't feel like they hold the cultural norms on this place.

Also I don’t wanna get involved in anyone’s business really, but if you wanna go there to escape bluesky’s moderation, get ready to be slammed for offenses like posting food, skulls, nudity or EYE CONTACT. If you’ve been in the trenches you know— [contains quote post or other embedded content]

Bluesky Social

@Flaky I was actually all in on Mastodon before Bluesky got more popular and the larger mastodon community drove me away with alt-text policing nonsense and just general negativity when I would post things.

It's a real problem!!

@Konaburd Wow similar to me lol, but it was the constant antagonising towards people not like them, especially in the tech side. Not just from Mastodon people either, I got it from Lemmy and Akkoma users too so it's not isolated to Mastodon.

@Flaky I don't even know what those others are!!

To me it's like "it's available on heebee. You can watch it on Gumpy. It's available on Poob! Poob has it for you!"

@Konaburd lol fair - Akkoma is basically the same as Mastodon with an old-school Twitter, Lemmy is like Reddit (for better and for worse)
