Are we addicted to American payment providers?

I recently switched to #grapheneos and so far my experience has been great. Knowing my exposure to Google's services has been reduced.

However, today I forgot my wallet. Normally this would not be a problem as I would use my phone. But because of Google's arbitrary restrictions on running Google Wallet on custom android operating systems, was this no option.

This led me to search for #eu alternatives to #BigTech NFC payments.
Is there any? (DA)

Wallet itself works. Only tap-to-pay within Wallet doesn't because of Play Integrity enforcement. Solutions could be Curve, PayPal tap-to-pay, NFC and QR code solutions embedded in bank apps (common in Europe), payment apps from card issuers (e.g. PayConiq by Bancontact), Garmin Pay on a Garmin smartwatch, ...
