FLX1s is Launched

It is with great excitement that we can now release the FLX1s. Pre-sales are open and the phone is in production which is due to...

FuriPhone FLX1s Linux Phone
@furilabs I'm confused. If it's supposed to be a more affordable version of the flx1, why is it the same price?
@hstone32 @furilabs The first FLX1 was largely made into a pre-existing mold - meaning it wasn't built from scratch for Furilabs. This new one is a model made entirely for Furilabs and includes, among other things, kill switches and more RAM - so the purpose, to my knowledge, is not to be cheaper but better (or have features what community wants)
@furilabs I love the initiative but the hardware specs are disappointing for 2025.

@furilabs this really dissapoints me, I must say. No readphone jack, no removable battery, no fingerprint reader, usb 2 instead of 3. These were all things the first flx1 had.

with the exception of screen size and ram, this phone is an all around downgrade, and yet it costs the same.

@furilabs many, MANY people will need a phone that can run either iOS or Android apps - I see nothing about this. Can it?
@wonka it can android. RTM
@Llevickas Oh, found it. Should be made more obvious IMO, not only in the last sentence of the third paragraph, when the first paragraph says "based on Debian".
@furilabs lower specs haven't stopped me from opting-in to flx1s. Of course, I wish it had everything my s23+ has... but today is the reality where we don't have much choice in the linux phone world. Alternative could only be similarly speced jolla c2.
Nevertheless, we need more furilabs's braveness and delivery of alternative to spyOSes.
@furilabs I would rather buy an original FLX1. Why has it been removed from the store page?
@furilabs I'd like to buy. What payment methods are availabele for germany?
@furilabs does the FLX1 support video over usb-c to allow the use of desktop mode?
@furilabs silly question but then again i am a very silly person: does "hardware switch" mean that it physically cuts power to the certain modules? Or is it still somehow software dependant?

@furilabs Would the FLX1 support VoLTE in Australia?

3G phone calls have been turned off in Australia.

@etbe @furilabs The FLX1 works with Telstra: https://furilabs.com/forum/flx1/confirmed-carriers/

Btw, they are more responsive on their Telegram and Matrix channels.

Confirmed Carriers

Please list your Country and carrier that works on the FLX1. - Australia: Telstra and their MVNO's (Aldi, Boost etc) - USA: T-mobile and their MVN...

@opensourceopenmind @furilabs thanks I'm on the Telstra network!
@etbe @furilabs Unfortunately, they block the Librem 5 : (

@opensourceopenmind @furilabs I've pre-ordered my FLX1s.

The Furilabs returns policy is 15 days after purchase and shipping takes 12-15 days so I guess we have to just hope it doesn't have any problems.

@etbe @furilabs They'd still accept return for repair during the warranty period. Small businesses don't usually do returns for refund and sales are final.
@opensourceopenmind @furilabs most businesses don't do refunds without a reason but don't have a 15 day condition.
@etbe @furilabs I'm just speculating, but they possibly want to give change-of-mind customers the oopportunity to return the device before the box is opened... Best to read their return policy if you're concerned about this.

@opensourceopenmind @furilabs they could have stated "you can return a sealed unopened box".

Their conditions are unlike any others I've ever read. But like most people I don't read most conditions most of the time.
