@ApostateEnglishman @tchambers apparently there's a big merger coming and they want to please Trump. Just like with Stephen Colbert.
How people still deny the US is pretty authoritarian right now is beyond me.
@tchambers The wealthy are banking on Americans โon both sidesโ not giving up their bread and circuses.
They purposefully bundle sports broadcasting contracts with all other programming socializing the expense to maximize profits.
Hopefully the censorship and abandonment of the of the constitution results in content access alternatives to Citizens United oligarch owned monopolies beholden to authoritarian weaponization in politicized regulation of mergers and licensing.

How are we going to watch the end of the #rugby world cup #RWC2025 if we do that now?

I've never given them a dime in the first place, so my "contribution" doesn't add to the statistic, no one will notice.
@tchambers The problem is that most people's worldview is that they are just one tiny person and nothing they do or don't do matters. They don't have any collective consciousness as this has been discouraged under capitalism.
And then there's FOMO involved as well. I can't even get our local politicians to stop their intense use of Meta platforms.
@tchambers @evan Yes we all should be debillionairing. The problem is that we like the billionaires product/service more than we dislike their behaviour. I failed totally to convince any of my friends to switch from Metaโs Instagram to Pixelfed. Same psychology at play.
