Funny as hell: Some time ago #CharlieKirk said he wanted public executions and for them to be seen by kids.
Guess he never expected to himself be publicly executed.

@LukefromDC An execution is the final part of a judicial process where a person is charge, tried, and judged guilty by a jury of their peers.
Charlie was murdered.
@dizzy_flores Actually this is probably a wartime assasination. The US is now widely regarded as being in a low level civil war comparable to the Greek "Years of Lead."
Charlie has said that LGBTQ folks like myself should be killed, so no tears on this end. He has used his show to promote the killings of others (as in the video above) only to find that the killing he himself summoned forth was his own.
@LukefromDC When exactly did he say that LGBTQ folks should be killed? In those words. With full context.
I was never a huge fan, so I have to rely on what I can dig up. Everything I've seen indicates that he believed LBGTQ folks were sinning. But I've yet to see any verifiable evidence that he called for killing them.
@dizzy_flores Here you go, but note that my research skills are EXTREMELY limited so this is probably NOT where I first saw it:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/charlie-kirk-did-stoning-gay-120003332.html
"Charlie Kirk DID say stoning gay people was the 'perfect law' — and these other heinous quotes"
Originally published by The Advocate, which is LGBTQ friendly.
Note that no matter what the context, you CANNOT call stoning people for sex-or any other law-"God's perfect law" without endorsing it yourself. You can say all you want about a selective reading of the Bible, but as soon as you call any passage "God's perfect law," if that is not itself a quote from the same passage it is an endorsement of it.
It is quite common for Christian natonalists to call for killing LGTBQ folks. When I was at University of MD in the 1980's, street preacher Tom Short used to call for this, then tried to deny it when I called him out for it in the mid 1990's after Ronald Reagan was gone.
He's also done things like asking parents to report trans-friendly professors. This kind of so-called "social cleansing" always ends in people being killed.
Which is why I asked for proof.

In the fullest context of what he was saying, he did not advocate that anyone be stone to death.
Hyper-partisan sources love to pick limited quotes and stretch them well beyond a reasonable interpretation of events.
Also, Charlie mis-quoted Lev. 18, but that's a separate issue. Lev. 18 does not call for stoning in any of the versions that I cycled through in the last few days - specifically responding to this false claim.
Since the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10, social media users have shared posts showing, quoting or paraphrasing remarks the posts attribute to the conservative activist. Many readers have asked us to provide the facts on whether Kirk, the founder of the youth political group Turning Point USA, made several of these comments.
@LukefromDC Given the dearth of real fascists in the country (much less referenced/in this discussion) you have quite the search ahead of yourself.
Enjoy! Be well.
@dizzy_flores I fucking WISH. From Trump on down, the current "leadership" in the US is not just fascist but even Nazi. Trump used to keep a book of Hitler's speeches on his nightstand. He is using ICE in the role of the Gestapo. The first concentration camps (e.g Alligator Auschwitz) are up and running.
Trump's efforts to gain control of the media are straight from the Hitler/Mussolini playbook too. Trump's threats of war to conquer Canada, Panama, and Greenland are very Hitlerian: direct demands to other countries for all of their territory. Canadians are overwhelmingly saying NO to Anschuss.
Who can forget Elon Musk's Nazi salute on Inauguration night? Notably this "tech bro" thing mirrors the close ties between the German Nazi Party of the 1930's and much of German heavy industry in the same time period.
My father fought in WWII. He was there. I have studied that war most of my life and I do NOT like what I've seen in the last year.
@LukefromDC That sort of mischaracterization is what is driving things in the wrong direction. Everyone does it. Instead of having a sense of scale, we turn it up to 11. Every single time.
Trump perhaps the 3rd most authoritarian President in the last ~100 years. But he's a long way from being either a fascist or a Nazi.
