After almost 10 years, I’ve finally brought back RF Analyzer 📡!

RF Analyzer turns your Android phone into a real-time spectrum analyzer for SDR.

If you’d like to try it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mantz_it.rfanalyzer

I've rewritten most of the app from scratch. Version 2.0 is now live on Google Play with a modern UI, smoother performance, background demodulation, and built-in contextual help. I’ve poured a lot of time and passion into making SDR on Android fun and accessible again.

You can connect a HackRF or RTL-SDR (also supports the Blog v4), explore the signals around you, demodulate AM, FM, SSB, or CW, and even record IQ samples - all from your phone.

I'd love to get feedback! How do you like it?

@dm4ntz are there any plans on releasing the 2.0 update on f-droid in the near future?
@joracle I have plans to do this eventually.. however, it is currently not on my prio list because it is non-trivial to replace Google's Billing Library. I want some more features implemented first and then I will update F-Droid.
@dm4ntz makes sense. Also, is it possible to buy v2 without google play? I have an rtl-sdr coming in a few days and I'd like to use it with v2, but I've de-googled my phone.
@joracle not yet unfortunately :(
But maybe you (or others who see this) can help me: what's a good payment platform when it comes to FOSS software (e.g. apps on F-Droid)? Ideally something which is easily integrated in an android app and does not require me to have my own backend for the app.. I've yet to do some research about that but maybe swarm intelligence on mastodon is better and faster 😅

@dm4ntz what type of platform do you want? The type that locks the app untill you pay or something like a donation button? I doubt you'll have any luck finding something open source fitting of the former (and F-droid wouldn't probably approve a paywalled app).

I think that OsmAnd has a good system: they have a free and a paid version (both open source) on the app stores but they also publish the plus version on f-droid. Though, I'm not here to tell you that wanting to get compensated is bad.
