Late 2024, I snapped. Quit my "dream job" after realizing it was a steaming pile of crap.

Now I'm building the software I wish existed: privacy-first, no telemetry, no tracking, no bloat.

Since #MacPorts does not have the latest #HackRF drivers, I took the plunge and compiled them myself to update the firmware on my new HackRF Pro. Works great. Awesome work, @mossmann and @GreatScottGadgets!

i've used some janky obviously-homebrewed devices in my day, but the #HackRF #PortaPack H4M is the first one I've used where you have to reboot it to get it to notice that it's plugged into the wall and start charging, and you have to redo that every time you unplug it and plug it back in.

HackRF with Picolibc firmware?
I just uploaded 2026.01.3-1 to Debian unstable.

My "works for me when I tried it" tests were hackrf_info, hackrf_spiflash to install new firmware, gqrx to listen to FM broadcast, and hackrf_transfer to transmit a CW signal with my HackRF One.

@mossmann the change was only to switch the specs file, and depend upon picolibc-arm-none-eabi.
(Needs versions newer than released Debian stable.)
