Today, September 15, is Battle of Britain Day.

On this day in 1940, Nazi Germany attacked Britain with two massive waves of aircraft, because Hitler thought he could achieve air superiority in the British skies.

But his operation was a complete failure, and the Nazis lost 60 aircraft.

This finally led Hitler to cancel his invasion of The British Isles. Of course he did not admit that, but postponed his "Operation Sea Lion".

They all have their "Special Military Operation".

They all fail.

@randahl

i think the battle of britain's success over the nazis took longer than a day but i understand the point is the 'give them hope' as they enter their 'darkest hours' vibe.

@randahl Goering never recovered from it either.
@randahl European airmen (including a lot of Poles) had a lot to do with that. Lesson learned - you win if you work across borders
@randahl curious about the SMO against #greenland Did #trump invade it already 😄
@muzicofiel I sense, I should do a video about that.
