elleI love how the second part of Banksy's newest mural, which is a comment on censorship and oppression, was done by the very people he is critiquing.
Their response was predictable, and relied upon, and imho has created a masterpiece.

phaedral@ElleGray One assumes the artist put great thought into his materials, and what sort of after image would remain despite the best efforts to non-destructively remove the image. Non-destructive that is to the side of the building. Cuz that's what it's going to take to get rid of that image knocking out that whole section of limestone!

@ElleGray Banksy once came and did some art by the side of a corner shop right near my house. A car showed up, and there was a sort of a half tent put up. Three men were doing something, going in and out of the tent. Then they disappeared just as quickly, and there it was left on the wall.
Within hours, a clear hard plastic sheet had been put over it. A day later Banksy confirmed it was his on his socials. A few days later, the wall was taken out and sold for millions, apparently.
So, they must REALLY have not liked that one if they just cleaned it off...
