A. RiveraThe Tashi Kyil Monks Tibetan Buddhist monks just arrived at our library. They will be speaking on campus, and they will also be creating a sand mandala in our main floor during this week.

There is some progress on the monks' sand mandala. This is from this morning. By now, they've gotten further along.
Another progress update on monks' sand mandala. I expect it to be fully done sometime this evening, at most early morning tomorrow.
They'll then take it apart so sand is deposited in a creek nearby, so it returns to the Earth before they move on.
Final update: The monks' sand mandala is done. They finished it on Thursday (9/11). It was then disassembled on Friday and the sand taken to a creek near the college to return it to the Earth as is Tibetan tradition.
